This program is designed for those interested in pursuing a certification as a PATH Intl. Registered Therapeutic Riding Instructor. PATH Intl. requires 25 hours of teacher training prior to taking their On Site Workshop. Upon completion of the 25 hours, the candidates should be prepared to plan and implement a safe and effective therapeutic riding lesson. Candidates will obtain hands-on experience teaching the disabled, planning curriculum, working with different instructors, handling the horses and working with the staff. The staff at Topfield will provide the training and support necessary to complete the required 25 teaching hours, but does not guarantee the successful certification of the candidate.
Requirements for PATH Intl. Instructor-In-Training candidates include:
Fee of $500 for program paid in full
Copies of current CPR and First Aid cards
Copy of Instructor Candidate Letter from PATH Intl.
Proof of PATH Intl. Membership
Must be 18 years of age
Please note that applicants who do not meet the entrance criteria after the first week will not be accepted into the Instructor Training Course. All monies paid to Topfield Equestrian Center, with the exception of the $150.00 non-refundable fee, will be returned and the applicant will be asked to withdraw from the program.
