John MacEnroe, Executive Director – John MacEnroe comes to the position of Executive Director as former chair of the Therapeutic Equestrian Center and a service background having served as a Commissioned Officer in the United States Army, President of Dutchess County Economic Development Corporation, and a Director of Government Relations for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, NYNEX and Bell Atlantic. He currently serves on the board of the Second Cavalry Association., and chairs the Board of Directors of EverCare, Inc.
Heather White, LMSW, Program Director and Volunteer Coordinator – Heather comes to Topfield from the field of Animal-Assisted Interactions, previously serving as Director of Programs and Training of an east coast-based therapy dog organization. Heather is an EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association) Certified Mental Health Professional and Certified Level 1 E3A (Equine Experiential Education Association) Practitioner. Heather holds a Master's degree in Social Work from Hunter College's Graduate School of Social Work, having won the Jacob Goldfein award for her Master's Thesis, "Optimizing Animal-Assisted Interactions within Psychiatric Facilities". Heather also holds a certificate in Animals and Human Health from the University of Denver, a certificate in Treating Animal Abuse from Arizona State University, and a certificate in Veterinary Social Work from the University of Tennessee. Heather is currently a student of the University of Denver's Equine-Assisted Mental Health Practitioner Program. Heather enjoys partnering with animals in helping to improve client outcomes.
Megan Cotter, Director of Healthcare and Corporate Compliance – Megan has been part of the equestrian center since 2011 and works closely with New York State to ensure Topfield’s clients are receiving the necessary care to which they are entitled. Megan’s passion is in helping others. Megan’s responsibilities include documentation management and compliance review in addition to working closely with other Topfield staff on grant applications and grant information. Megan holds a BA in Communication from Curry College and a Masters in Public Health from New York Medical College.
